Exchange of experiences in internationalization and teacher training through the PROF-XXI project

OBJECTIVE: Analyze the exchange of experiences of the participation of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala in the international project PROF-XXI, to demonstrate the implementation carried out in this in the management of the project in question which benefits the academic community of the university. METHOD: The research approach is qualitative with a non-experimental design and a descriptive scope. The selection of the subjects in the research process was carried out with the administrative, academic, computer and communication staff who work in the Division of Distance Education in Virtual Environments (DEDEV) of the USAC, with whom they have first-hand perspective of execution initiative. RESULTS: Adopt new practices for the performance and execution of the project. Participation and socialization of international conferences and workshops with teachers and students. Acquisition of technological equipment that didn’t exist before and that leads to the training of teachers and students to use it and generate new academic products. Learn from the good practices that are implemented through the project, as well as the culture of constant change and adaptation. CONCLUSION: International projects play an important role in improving innovation processes in administrative, technical, communicative, technological and academic areas of the beneficiary institution.
